Bad boys, big-name knock-off, but they did it damn well. Just like Beatles, Rolling Stone, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, etc. made this album all together. Most songs deserve a single.

[Edit] tyang "mentioned" Jet to me quite some time ago. I listened a few songs and carelessly determined they were just another Beatles knock-off. He should have made a "strong recommendation" :) (such as in the case of Travis).

My Music CD Collection is Boring

Just browse through my CDs and suddenly found them so boring, including those "I've got to have" ones. GnR for instance, I haven't touched those discs for long time. Maybe I'll end up listening to NPR on my way to/from work all the time. Rock is dead in me?

100 Greatest guitar solo

Went through the 100 greatest guitar solo list (a reader's poll by Guitar World Magazine). Quite satisfactory except for seeing Santana's Europa only at No. 49. Personally I think Santana has some great stuff and should be in top 20 if not 10. Like the about.com article said, the results "reflect the magazine's demographic".

XM Online finally works in the office

Finally got XM Radio Online to work in the office. Apparently the player is quite picky about the version of Windows Media Player (which, by itself, is a buggy piece, too). Anyway, Squizz filled up the air most of the time and the rest was shared by Bone Yard and Liquid Metal.

Stereomud - Perfect Self

Stereomud, the name didn't ring a bell when I showed the CD (Perfect Self) to my rock-savvy colleagues today. Having fans only in maybe a handful cities, its music has been rarely played on radio stations. Perfect Self was its debut album in 2001. At the time Dallas 97.1 Eagle played "Pain" from the album and the music quickly caught my attention. The band put out another album in 2003 and then vanished. Until recently "Pain" flashed back in my brain so I got out and acquired the CD. The album was nicely produced, with overall heavy and raw music.

I recommend my rock-fan friends to give it a try. I'm sure my colleagues all agreed after 40 minutes exposure to the album.
