Internet Over Mobile Phone
I had to get myself connected even on the road, so I added an internet option into my wireless package through T-Mobile. Now I can get a link comparable to a 56k dialup, presumably port 80 and 8080 only (to be verified). Here is how it's done. My Motorola V3 phone is connected to my laptop (windows XP) throguh bluetooth. In the bluetooth modem advanced tab, add the following string:
and in the dialup window, put in
as phone number.
I tested connection speed using speakeasy.net. 40 kbps down and 13 kbps up. Not a dream connection, but OK for an on-the-road surfer, imagine in a moving car...
